Zero to Hero: The Best Way To Learn Excel In 2018 [Online Excel Training] 2018-03-28T09:43:51+00:00

Zero to Hero: Become a Swiss Army Knife in Excel

Stop wasting time and second-guessing yourself.
This is the best way to learn Excel. Period.

Have you tried improving your Excel-skills before, only to give up?

Are you short on time?

If so, you’re not alone!

Recently, I polled our +40,000 subscribers and asked them:

“What’s holding you back from achieving the skills you want in Excel?”

Their answers were split in 2:

1: They had tried stepping up their Excel skills before… But the material they found was so overwhelming and confusing. They had given up!

2: They lacked the time necessary. Our readers had (falsely) been told they needed to set aside several hours per day before making any progress.

Like many others, Dave believes it takes tons of time to learn Excel.

To be honest, those answers didn’t shock me.

I experienced the exact same when I started learning Excel 7 year ago…

Everyone expects you to know your way around Excel – yet nobody takes the time to teach you the ins and outs of Excel.

+90% of our readers have achieved their current Excel skills from a grueling try-fail-persevere approach.

Albeit noble, it’s very ineffective (and extremely frustrating!).

It took me 7 years to learn Excel. It’ll take you 14 hours.

7 years ago, I faced a choice:

  • Learn Excel to become attractive for employers and get ahead of others
  • Give up on learning Excel, take the hit and hope that I’d figure something out

I figured it’d be career-suicide not to learn Excel, so I went with the former.

But where to start?

Excel is the most advanced, mainstream, software available. Excel has +300 shortcuts, +400 functions, along with hundreds of different features.

I remember feeling overwhelmed by all the formulas, functions, and options. Also, I didn’t have anyone who could help me out and tell me what to do.

My first experience using Excel wasn’t the most exciting, to say the least. Here I am in a statistics class about 7 years ago where I first was introduced to Excel 😀

So, I started “Googling” and searching for videos on YouTube, praying what I read and watched was correct.

Fast-forward to 4 years later, and I had achieved a decent skill level in Excel. I finally started thinking “Hey, I’m quite good at this!”.

This was the most awesome feeling ever!

I no longer feared ever task my boss sent me, I didn’t get angry with Excel for not doing what it was “supposed to”, and I didn’t have to embarrass myself by always asking my colleagues for help.

At the same time, I couldn’t help but think:

It shouldn’t take 4 years just to go from zero to “okay”…

Fast-forward to today, 7 years later from when I first started learning Excel, and I am much more than “Okay”.

In fact, I’m a certified Microsoft Office Specialist.

More than 40,000 people have signed up for my training, each month more than 150,000 read my tutorials.

I’ve worked as a consultant charging $160/hour to create Excel-systems for businesses of all sizes.

All this experience has given me the skills to take a student (you) from zero to hero in just 14 hours.

Think about it: in 14 hours, you can have some of the most valuable Excel-skills. The envy of colleagues is guaranteed – and so is the attention from your boss.

It’s all included in this course: Zero To Hero 🙂

I would have KILLED to get this sort of system when I first started out. I could’ve saved 7 years – and instead turbo-charged my career much faster and easier.

How would learning Excel impact your life?

This might be an odd question but think about it for a second…

… How would it affect your life, if you achieved such skill in Excel, that no matter what your boss throws at you, you could simply say “Thank you!”.

Then start working and (over)deliver a result that nobody else in the entire company can?

Here I am with a few colleagues at one of the first jobs I landed because of my skills in Excel.

I’ve seen firsthand what’s happened to Spreadsheeto’s Zero to Hero graduates – as well as in my own life.

Here’re the 4 most common things:

1: Increase your salary. When you become better, you become more invaluable. You transform yourself from just being an employee to an asset for the business. This is rewarded.

2: Get you a promotion. Better skills mean you can handle more complex tasks. This enables you to scale the corporate ladder much quicker.

3: Impress your boss and get you ahead of colleagues. As you’ve already experienced, everyone expects you to know Excel, yet few do. You can be one of those few, who masters the spreadsheet. This is guaranteed to impress your boss and cause great envy by your colleagues.

4: An easier, stress-free, workday. It’s not uncommon to become 2-10x more productive in Excel. Imagine doing your current Excel-tasks in half the time? It’s very possible!

Working is so much more fun when you know your way around Excel!

You must avoid these 3 pitfalls

Achieving this sort of skill in Excel doesn’t happen by itself.

There are tons of roadblocks you must avoid as well as misinformation.

The 3 things you must avoid when learning Excel is:

1: Lack of structure. Having the right structure isn’t optional – it’s a must. By following the right structure and sequence, your skills increase in a fraction of the time it normally takes.

2: Focus on everything. With hundreds of functions, formulas, and options, Excel is overwhelming. Many things are completely unnecessary to focus on. But, there are a handful of things that are crucial. Knowing the difference between “unnecessary” and “crucial” is the hard part.

3: YouTube and onsite training. YouTube is great for cute cat videos, but learning Excel? Not so much. YouTube lacks structure, quality, assignments and a whole lot more. Onsite training can be great in a few rare instances. As with any skill, repetition is key. Onsite training doesn’t provide you with that option (and it’s super expensive as well).

So, what’s the solution then?

I’m glad you asked, it’s called: Zero to Hero…

The training helped me to find my new job where they need good knowledge of Excel.

Instructor: Co-Founder and Microsoft Office Specialist

Hi there, my name is Kasper Langmann!

If you think that name sounds funny, it’s because I’m from Copenhagen, Denmark (Europe) 🙂

Kasper Langmann co-founder and Excel expert

I’m the co-founder of Spreadsheeto and creator of “Zero to Hero”.

I’m the one responsible taking you from 0 to 100 in Excel in the shortest amount of time possible.

Here are 5 things you should know about me:

  1. I’ve worked in the Ministry of Innovation and Education
  2. Graduated from Copenhagen Business School with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics
  3. I’m a certified Microsoft Office Specialist
  4. I worked professionally as an Excel-consultant for 2 years
  5. And finally, I’m the co-founder of Spreadsheeto. Currently, we have +40,000 students from all over the globe and +160,000 monthly readers

I believe anyone can become a hero in Excel despite any earlier experience they have learning Excel.

Excel is indeed overwhelming and often frustrating and difficult…

…But, having worked with Excel for the past 7 years and taught Excel to +40,000 students, I know it’s possible to achieve skills in Excel you never dreamed of.

The effects of becoming skilled in Excel is perhaps the most important thing. Promotion, higher salary, admiration from co-workers, impressing your boss is not uncommon. In fact, it’s very likely!

I learned how to rock a spreadsheet!

You’re my first priority

Most other training companies collect your money and leave you alone. We’re the complete opposite.

If you decide to become a student of Zero to Hero, we view it as the beginning of getting to know you.

If you at any point encounter a problem in Excel, you’re always welcome to write me. As a Zero to Hero student, you have first-priority in my inbox.

It’s my responsibility to get you started and help you succeed in Excel. I don’t take that lightly.

Sometimes, all we need is a friendly reminder to get the ball rolling.

Cheat Sheets: Quick to Read, Easy to Review

Preview of the cheat sheet included for the module “The Foundation”

No matter how good I am at explaining you Excel, you’re going to forget a few things.

Luckily, I’ve fixed that!

For each of the 7 modules, I’ve created a cheat sheet (PDF).

This cheat sheet contains the most important lessons from the module. This makes it a breeze to review and remember what you learn.

Value: 7 x $19 = $133

Certificates: Proof That You’ve Become a Hero

For each of the 7 modules, you’re able to download a certificate.

As soon as you complete one module, your certificate is ready.

This certificate is your proof of your new skills.

Pssst! Make sure to bring it to a pay negotiation. It’ll melt the heart of your boss.

Here’s how a certificate looks

Assignments: Make Your Skills Stick

I spend hours creating each assignment. These are designed to convert what you learn into action.

Studies show that you 10x your retention if you do what you learn.

I don’t want you to see the lessons or read the cheat sheets.

I want you to do what I show you. I want you to finally understand Excel.

This is achieved by doing the included assignments.

You watch TV for +4 hours…
Why not spend 15 minutes learning Excel?

Surveys show that people watch TV for +4 hours a day.

We get it… it’s much more fun to watch TV than learning Excel (we think so too).

But, you don’t need to spend 4 hours a day to learn Excel.

Despite what you might have been told, you don’t need to sit down for hours on end to learn Excel.

In fact, I don’t even recommend doing that!

Going through the training for 15-60 minutes per day is optimal – this is by design.

Set aside 15 minutes per day and you’ll complete an entire module (+exercises) in 1 week. Want to do even more? Feel free, that’s up to you!

Course platform

Here’s a screenshot of our training platform, designed for ease and simplicity.

This makes it easy for you to go through the training whenever you’re off work – and still have plenty of time for whatever you want to do.

Remember, that this training teaches you Excel in a fraction of the time it usually takes. Everything included is something you can apply instantly.

When you’re done with the 7 modules, you have skills that are in demand – and rewarded – in (almost) all jobs.

Sounds like time spent better than watching Family Guy, right?

(PS: we love Family Guy)

The training opened up a world of options for me to automate repetitive daily tasks. The training saves me a lot of time in my working day.
