The project file or assignment file doesn’t work

If you want to get the most out of our course, it’s not enough just to sit and watch.

You have to engage yourself in the topics you learn.

The best way to do this is by downloading and practicing with the project files in the lessons – and doing the assignments.

If you can’t get the file to work, you’re missing out on important parts of the course.

So, read this guide carefully and follow the steps 🙂

1: Enable editing

When you open a file you download from the internet for the first time, you’ll see this warning.

Click it, to be able to edit the file.

Files downloaded from any Spreadsheeto webpage will not cause harm to your computer.

We are a trustworthy source where you can download Excel files without worrying.

2: Enable Content (Macros)

If a workbook contains macros, you need to enable the macros before you can use them.

Among other things, this enables you to use the Hint buttons in the assignment files.

To enable macros in the project or assignment file, click the Enable Content button.

The button appears after you enable editing (see step 1).

Click it, and practice 🙂

3: File won’t download

If the project or assignment file won’t download, your company has restricted your internet activity.

That means there are files you can’t download from websites that have not been pre-approved by your company.

To fix this, talk with your IT department and ask them to allow you to download files from https://training.spreadsheeto.com/.

If they can’t allow you to do that, reach out to us, and we’ll find another way of sending you the project or assignment files.

4: The file won’t open

Is the file simply not opening?

Then your Excel security settings are too restrictive towards files that contain macros.

Go to File -> Options -> Trust Center -> Trust Center Settings… -> Macro Settings

And check the option to enable all macros.

This is not recommended unless our files won’t open on your computer.

When working with Excel in general, you should use the setting to disable all macros with notification.

Now, your project or assignment file should be working fine and you’re ready to take your new skills for a spin.
